Good polishing is of importance in wood working. As one is always striving for better technique and performance, I was given an Arbortech Contour Sander. Great tool, however the linishing pads come as self adhesive discs. That has the disadvantage of being only once of good use.

There is also the option of punching a hole in the middle of the pad and then bolting it to the rubber pad.The let-down is that I very seldom hit the center and therefore the pad was sitting a bit off-center on the rubber pad.
Therefore I had an idea. By using a 51 mm diameter Forstnerbit, I drilled a recess to about 4 mm deep into a piece of Pine.

Then placing the sand paper pad into the 51 diameter hole, I drill a hole exactly into the centre.
